The Picosure Pro has revolutionized the treatment of melasma. It is far more cost effective than Cosmelan or Dermamelan with none of the downtime of novel peels.
What results can I expect from a Picosure laser?
To date, this is the most effective laser for melasma. 85% of patients can expect a significant reduction of pigmentation. Adjunctive pigment correcting creams can amplify the results from laser treatments.
How many sessions will I require to clear my melasma?
Though results can be seen within one laser session, we advise a series of 4 sessions, spaced 2-4 weeks apart.
What is the treatment like?
Treatments are comfortable & fast, taking less than 3 minutes to perform. Picosure feels like tiny nettle flicks on the skin. On a pain scale of 1 to 10, it rates as a 1 to 2.
What is the recovery following Picosure Pro?
Unlike other lasers, recovery from Picosure Pro treatment of melasma ranges between 10 to 40 minutes. Cosmelan or Dermamelan peels have a recovery process of 5 to 10 days.
Your skin will be mildly pink for a few minutes following the laser, with full recovery expected within the hour.

Novel peels are useful for some cases of melasma. At the clinic we employ these peels for individuals who travel to our clinic from far. Peels have the advantage over lasers, namely less sessions to deliver similar outcomes (in actual fact, lasers are better with a ‘hit’ rate of 80-85% as compared to peels with 60-70% success)

We prefer a combination vitamin C & ferulic acid plus #tocopherol or vitamin E in a stabilized low pH formulation. The most well known tiple combination is patented at a fixed percentage of 15% L-ascorbic acid with a distinctive metallic smell that stains whites. Several drops go a long way
