What is the science behind The Fraxel Series?

The Fraxel laser uses fractional beams of light to gently resurface the upper & middle layers of skin. This stimulates the production of collagen, which leads to wrinkle removal, reduction of pores, blemishes & scars.

Laser light also removes pigmentation such as freckles, age spots, & sunspots.

What is involved with fractional laser treatment?

Fraxel laser takes 20-30 minutes to perform, numbing gel is used prior, hence treatments are comfortable. Treatments are pefromed in our laser suites in Brisbane & Sydney.

Do we use the Fraxel series to treat melasma?

Whilst this can be effective in some cases of melasma, pico lasers offer many advantages over fractional laser resurfacing, namely-

  • Better results
  • Less side effects & much quicker recovery
  • Less costs
  • Less pain & discomfort

Pico lasers produce much less heat compared to Fraxel, hence why they are better for melasma. Fraxel is superior to pico lasers for skin rejuvenation in lighter skin types.
